How we describe fit
Every clothing listing carries four numbers taken flat on our own table and doubled where relevant: bust, waist, shoulder-to-hem length, and where applicable the shirring stretch range.
| Term on a listing | What it means here |
|---|---|
| Full shirring | Elastic panel across the entire back, usually 12–18cm of comfortable stretch. |
| Half shirring | Elastic on the side back panels only, typically 6–9cm of stretch. |
| Non-shirred | Fixed measurement. Buy to your true measurement plus 3cm for a blouse underneath. |
| Adjustable waist ties | Ties take the waist in, never out. The listed number is the maximum. |
Where an atelier's own size chart disagrees with our measurement, the listing shows both and says which one we trust.
